I’m an estate planning attorney, a father, a neurodivergent systems thinker, and a former biomedical researcher.
Before becoming a lawyer, I spent years working in biomedical and genetics research, managing complex projects and contributing to peer-reviewed scientific publications. That experience shaped the way I approach legal work today: carefully, analytically, and with close attention to how every part of a plan works together.
I later earned my Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Southwestern Law School. I completed honors concentrations in Technology Law and Entrepreneurship and in Entertainment and Media Law. I also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Southwestern Law Review and received academic awards in Community Property, Intellectual Property Licensing, Patent Law, Music Publishing Law, and Criminal Law.
Today, I co-founded Dietz & Dietz, APC with my wife, Jennifer. Together, we help California individuals and families create estate plans that are thoughtful, practical, and easier to understand, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, and related planning documents.
As a neurodivergent attorney, I naturally focus on patterns, systems, precision, and anticipating how individual decisions may affect the larger plan. I believe estate planning should be comprehensive without becoming overwhelming and precise without losing sight of the people the plan is meant to protect.
My goal is to help clients understand their options, make informed decisions, and create plans that reflect their families, priorities, and long-term goals. Every client should leave the process feeling more prepared and more confident about what comes next.
Outside the office, I enjoy being a dad, spending time with my family, exploring science and technology, and continuing to learn.
