Divorce and Separation 50%

A divorce (also called a "dissolution of marriage") ends your marriage. California is a “no fault state” which means that you can get a divorce if you say you have "irreconcilable differences" with your spouse. Your spouse does not need to “agree” to give you a divorce. Residency Requirements: You or your spouse must have lived in California for the last 6 months AND for 3 months in the county where you're going to file for your divorce. For example, if you wish to file in Los Angeles County,

The best parenting plan is one that both parents agree on. Our office can help you determine the best plan for you and present it to the other parent or their attorney. There are times that no agreement can be met and the parties must have a judge determine the appropriate parenting plan. Our office provides you with aggressive representation and we can counsel you on various options to assist the courts in determining an appropriate plan for you.

There are several variables that the courts look at when making orders for child support. We can assist you in ensuring that all support orders are reasonable. There are add-ons which may increase or decrease your child support obligation, such as daycare costs, health insurance and other expenses paid on behalf of the children.

I have a philosophy about divorce cases. “Family law” has that name for a reason. In other areas of law, the parties file their actions and go to court to get a final resolution. Our office strives to assist families through the transition of the divorce and where possible to come to a complete agreement in regards to custody, visitation, support and property distribution.

Lawyer with a cause.

John took my case after hearing the difficulties I was having with my ex wife, she demanded an obscene amount of money from me and when I told her I wasn't willing to pay it any longer but rather a lessor yet still generous amount, she withheld my son from me. John was not only sympathetic to my cas...e but also showed urgency towards getting visitations with my son again. He had a case filed within a week of our initial meeting and visitation was ordered soon thereafter. He showed genuine concerns for not only my well being not that of my son as well. A week before Christmas (and my scheduled vacation with my son and girlfriend) my ex told me she wouldn't allow me to take my son anymore, she wasn't "comfortable" with him being with me for a week and didn't trust me to return him on time or if he wanted to come home. What better person to be with for a child than a parent!? I called John that night and he scheduled an emergency court hearing the next business day. We were able to come to an agreement because John mediated the situation between us and from that point on I think we were able to agree and come to terms with each other regarding our son without the courts or judges being involved. I am grateful to John's attention to details in my case and for his willingness to be fair.
