John Ryan Baldivia

John R. Baldivia is a litigation attorney at Pierce Law Group LLP and has worked on all stages of civil litigation involving entertainment, intellectual property, and labor & employment. John brings to the team a wealth of knowledge in copyright litigation, intellectual property, as well as music industry custom and practice. John has won numerous motions and successfully negotiated favorable settlements for plaintiffs in both copyright disputes and labor & employment matters.

Prior to joining Pierce Law Group LLP, John practiced in copyright litigation for the plaintiff side. He comes from a background as a music industry professional, having worked 10 years in digital content for both major label and independent music distribution. John completed his J.D. at Southwestern Law School’s evening program while working full time in the music industry. John has served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Michael R. Wilner with the U.S. Court in Central District of California, where he researched and reviewed extensive case materials in state habeas actions. He served as staff for the Southwestern Journal of International Law, where he published an article on the impact of China's copyright laws on the rise of the music streaming industry in China.

John received his undergraduate degree in Arts, Entertainment & Media Management at Columbia College Chicago with a 3.9 gpa. He is presently an active member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association in the Entertainment Law section, Philippine American Bar Association, and the Southwestern Nickel Alumni Club.
