Sarah Diane Gorrell

Sarah Diane Gorrell received her Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law and graduated cum laude with Honors from Denison University in Ohio with a B.A. in Theatre Arts. She is licensed by the California State Bar and is an active member of the American Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association Family Law Section. Ms. Gorrell brings a multitude of skills to the table, with experience in both mediation and litigation.

As a mediator, Ms. Gorrell has extensive experience conducting mediations and providing a non-confrontational approach to resolution for many client couples. Mediation is a form of Consensual Dispute Resolution, which can be a time and cost-effective alternative for parties when judicial intervention is not necessary. Her no-nonsense approach has the ability to drastically save clients time, money, and emotional turmoil. Unlike trial, mediation provides an opportunity for families to confront more than relevant legal issues and can extend to the underlying family or personal issues present. Couples voluntarily meet with Ms. Gorrell who acts as a neutral, impartial third party safely assisting divorcing couples in addressing and resolving disputed issues surrounding their divorce.

As a litigator, Ms. Gorrell offers a holistic approach to representation taking special care to prioritize the needs of her clients. Her practice is focused upon all facets of family law. She practices with an eye for effective communication to ensure her clients are informed at every stage of the process and has a resounding awareness of her presence and impact on others.

Ms. Gorrell has worked across numerous practice areas including consensual dispute resolution, probate and estate planning, corporate law, real estate law, and a broad background in family law. She sat on the Board of Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and was also President of the Women's Law Association at Southwestern University. While at Denison, Ms. Gorrell was selected for membership in the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society and Mortar Board. She also worked as an intern for the Universal Television's "Law & Order."

Ms. Gorrell has considerable experience with troubled youths, assisting and guiding at-risk children through the judicial process. Additionally, her time spent at the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law prepared Ms. Gorrell to anticipate the needs of her clients and ensure their understanding of rights and options available.
