Ryan Joseph Shumacher

Ryan is an associate in Rosenfeld’s Trusts and Estates Group specializing in all aspects of estate planning and administration. He has drafted dozens of customized estate plans for high-net-worth individuals and families with a wide range of family and financial considerations, and has helped facilitate multiple large estate and probate administration matters, including highly contested situations representing both estates and beneficiaries. Ryan’s practice has a particular emphasis on working with entertainment industry professionals, international clients, and the Silicon Beach startup community.

Prior to joining the firm as an attorney, Ryan worked in Rosenfeld’s Trusts and Estates Group for two years during law school. He also spent time working at the California Community Foundation, where he gained significant experience in the stewardship of complex philanthropic gifts. As a result, Ryan regularly advises clients on the best use of a variety of charitable gift planning techniques, including donor-advised funds and private foundations.

Ryan brings a strong background in financial planning, real estate, and business strategy to every engagement, and works to seamlessly coordinate with clients’ other trusted advisors. He is the Co-Founder of the Professional Advisors Group of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and is highly involved in the equestrian community as a dressage horse owner.
