Gilbert Ralph Geilim-Morales

I retained Gilbert Geilim to represent me and my business in a breach of contract/unlawful detainer matter. He filed a lawsuit on my behalf on May 9. 2014 followed by a first and a Second Amended complaints. He followed the case for a period of time until he became heavily involved with drug use wh...ich caused him to miss multipal court appearances. I employed him to recover the back rent and the damages the defendant had caused to the house in an approximate amount of $35,000.00 which included the rent and the damages. I do not have any of the documents in my file because he refused to give me the case file, and has continued to refuse, to return any of it to me. After he failed to appear in court few times sending contract attorneys, he abandoned my case after firing all of his office staff. The case was set for trial in February 2017 and the other side filed documents required for trial, however, Mr. Geilim failed to filed ANY papers and appeared in court and dismissed my case without my knowledge or consent. When I found out he had done so, I objected to his decision and asked him to return my file to me but he has refused to do so ever since. Dismissing a lawsuit without a client’s knowledge and consent, to me, is outrageous. Him dismissing my case without my knowledge and consent, caused the person I had originally sued, to sue me in small claims court and because Gilbert Geilim refused to return my file to me, I lost the case and the other side obtained a judgment against me for $10,000.00 because all the evidence I needed was in Gilberts garage office.
