Susan Chung-Mi Yu

Susan Yu is nationally recognized as a top trial lawyer with impeccable track record. She has won many difficult and complex criminal, civil and medical board trials, utilizing her unique trial skills, insights, and life experiences.

Deeply committed to excellence, Susan has a history of consistently obtaining winning results for many prominent clients, including the late music legend Michael Jackson, the First Lady of Gabon, Africa, a family member of the late film actor Peter Falk (known from a hit TV series “Columbo,”) a family member of a top-ranking government official from China, former CEO of St John Knits International, Inc., an international corporation from South Korea, a family member of LA Gear, a top-ranking officer of a multi-national real estate development company from India, a publicly traded midstream company from Texas, a prominent orthopedic surgeon from Southern California, and Home Depot U.S.A., Inc., just to name a few.

In addition to maintaining a very diverse and successful trial practice, Susan is actively involved in a wide-range of work for the profession and the community.  Susan serves as a Commissioner for the California State Bar’s Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE) Commission, which investigates and evaluates applicants who seek to become judges at the trial, appellate and supreme court levels throughout the state of California. Susan also serves on the Advisory Board and was elected to serve as President of the Litigation Counsel of America.  To promote the advancement of Asian Pacific American women in the legal profession, Susan sits on the Executive Board of Asian Pacific American Women Lawyers Alliance (APAWLA).
