Mathew Lee May

Matthew May was my attorney for 2 months. Outside of getting legal counsel on our first initial call, he was not helpful. It took days sometimes weeks to get in touch with him and when we did he was slow in responding to important and time sensitive documents. Matthew didn't pay attention to the case... and any of the latest updates even though he was copied on every email. He would draft old outdated information that was no longer relevant because he wasn't paying attention to detail. He was dismissive, didn't take my case seriously and we had to do everything communicating with the other party to recoup lost funds without Matthew May's involvement. On the last call with Matthew May he talked over us and hung up the phone in our face while we were still talking. We cancelled our membership immediately afterwards. Matthew May is rude as hell and unprofessional. I would not recommend him as an attorney and would strongly suggest working with someone who has more couth.

It's deeply concerning how attorneys like Matthew can remain active for over two decades while having no understanding of the laws. Matthew is the sort of attorney who, most likely, has made his living being arrogant and obsessively stubborn, simply because he at some point, passed the bar. Ther...e is a saying amongst attorneys that 'it's all how you word it'. If you word anything a certain way you will win. So the laws and codes to this sort of attorney do not really matter. An attorney can spend his career with this sort of zealous style and win enough times to make a living. The letter Matthew wrote was contradictory, did not take law into consideration, and was purely meant to be used as a bullying tactic rather than pointing out actual law violations or concerns. It was as if the letter was written by someone other than an actual attorney. Sentences were cut off, etc. It was quickly written without any care or regard to his client, seemingly, so he can make a quick buck.

UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED AND PROVIDED ABSOLUTELY POOR SERVICES: I've been a member of the association with which Mathew L. May is employed for over 14 years. This is the FIRST time I've ever felt SADLY disappointed, even insulted, by an attorney's lack of communication and customer service abilities f...or a customer. My benefits package provides me with legal letters when requested and he actually stated, quote: "I need to tell you now that you're going to be disappointed by the letter I'm going to write for you..." He wasn't even aware of the important dates in which my case involved (ie, he didn't really read the many documents I'd provided him). This was after I'd WAITED FOR 2 MONTHS for this letter..." He almost always interrupted me with short comments revealed by his short and rude mannerisms. What a major disappointment...

After one of the attorneys at Parker S refused to listen to anything that I had to say, I demanded Mr. May. (He had sent us some info on another case, seemed knowledgeable). After faxing him over the paperwork and waiting a week to hear back from him he said that there was nothing we could do and we ...were basically out of luck. He gave a very Token effort as if he was just responding for the sake of responding. I then went and paid for a real Attorney and paid real money and the the Attorney that I paid thousands of dollars was able to save the case, this was after I was told by Mathew that the case was lost and that there is nothing that I could do.
