David Ryan Welch

David Welch is the founding shareholder of D|R Welch Attorneys at Law. His practice focuses in the areas of Litigation, Governmental Affairs, Intellectual Property and Complex Criminal Defense.

Mr. Welch has a broad base of experience in representing the medical marijuana business community. While devoting a substantial portion of his practice to serving as General Counsel to some of the industry’s most recognizable brands, Mr. Welch also focuses on complex commercial transactions, finance, intellectual property, and municipal law. Mr. Welch’s clients include hedge funds, real estate developers, physicians, cultivators and distributors. Since founding D|R Welch, he has developed an extensive background and expertise in California medical marijuana laws, particularly as it relates to financing business operations, commercial and secured transactions, patent and trademark law, and drafting municipal laws regulating the cultivation and distribution of medical marijuana.

Mr. Welch is a member of the Los Angeles County and American Bar Associations and various other trade organizations related to his fields of practice. He also lectures regularly in his areas of practice. Mr. Welch was recognized as Southern California Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” in 2014 and 2015.
