David D. Ernst has over 20 years of experience in civil litigation, specializes in personal injury and business disputes, as well as professional liability litigation. David has represented individuals, school districts, major contractors and engineers. David has also represented physicians and health care providers in business disputes, employment actions and professional malpractice actions.
David began his professional career as an engineer, working on a major construction project, the $1.5 billion expansion of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. After law school, he worked for the San Diego City Attorney’s Office, where he was recruited by a major law firm in Los Angeles, Bonne, Bridges, Mueller, O’Keefe & Nichols. David joined Backus, Bland, Navarro & Weber LLP in 1998. In 2013, David became a named partner in Backus & Ernst, LLP.
