Filled with anguish, my 85-year old mother and I sat in court overcome with hopelessness and helplessness. The month prior, I plead guilty to a heinous, violent crime that I didn’t commit. One year later when it was all said and done my bail had been reduced to a 110,000 and my criminal court case had been reduced to a misdemeanor battery.
