Michael Machat

Michael Machat is one of the few private attorneys that has taken a case to the U.S. Supreme Court and won.  His practice covers all aspects of trademark law from the selection and filing of trademarks to fighting all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court to protect his clients' rights.

Mr. Machat represents various types of clients, including start ups, artists, entrepreneurs, wealthy businessmen and even other lawyers.   In addition to working on transactional matters, he has tried numerous jury trial cases to verdict, most recently winning over $700,000 representing a client suing for trademark infringement.  

Mr. Machat enjoys challenges and has had great success taking on large billion dollar companies, foreign governments, and even state governments who have been represented by larger law-firms.   He took one client's case to the US Supreme Court, won a 9-0 decision and changed the law, establishing fair use as a viable defense in trademark infringement cases.  

Mr. Machat has obtained various Six and Seven Figure Confidential Settlements representing clients up against Fortune 500 companies.

He has taken on cases that other lawyers passed on, finding value and obtaining hundreds of thousands of dollars, and even millions, for hiis clients in the process.

As an entreprenuer, he owns some valuable beverage trademarks and has personal experience growing a business.
