Wonderful attorney and terrific human!

I am writing my review here because this is where I found this attorney. The review that swayed me to hire Stephen is the one from Kathi in 2018 who had worked in the legal profession for 20+ years. She outlines how probate attorneys charge and makes a solid case for choosing a probate attorney in ...CA; you will pay the same no matter who you hire, so why not hire the best? I could not have asked for a better attorney. In 2021 my son died by suicide at the age of 31 and had no will or home at the time of his death. I live in FL and needed a Los Angeles based probate attorney. Dealing with grief, plus the addition of bureaucratic issues associated with death and probate without a will, from the other side of the country is a very daunting experience. Stephen made the experience bearable, if not pleasant. I chose to be the Administrator for the estate because I did not want to hire a stranger. Having never done anything like this prior, he guided me through every step of the process and kept me abreast of court dates, filings, etc. He always responded in a timely fashion, answered my questions thoroughly and never made me feel inadequate when I did not know the basics of how probate works. Simply put, he was a joy to work with and I found him to be a genuinely kind person. I highly recommend Stephen for any of your estate planning or probate needs.

You can stop searching right now :)

I can't express enough how much I appreciate having found Steve to help me through a very complex and difficult probate. My grandfather passed away without a will or trust and a lot of assets and children that completely dislike each other - it's been messy to say the least. I've worked in the ...legal profession for over 20 years and was referred to Steve Grant by an attorney I work with, as I personally didn't know anyone who specialized in Probate Law. One thing about probate law is that the court mandates or sets the attorney's fees based off of the value of the estate. The fee is also paid from / out of the estate... so you don't pay by the hour, so if you're reading this - you're probably searching for a good probate lawyer and wondering if you can afford a really good attorney, and in a probate situation, it's really up to you, the individual (aka the administrator of the estate) to find the best possible attorney (for the set fee that the estate will pay anyways). Someone that will give you their time, attention and expertise...someone who cares... Well, I'm thankful to have found Steve and that's why I'm even taking the time to write this... In writing this review, I thought it might be helpful to list out the words that come to mind to describe Steve and what kind of a person/probate attorney he is to have on your side. Steve is: Very patient Articulate Great at making himself available when you need to speak with or email him Intelligent - Probate law is very specialized and he really knows what he's doing and cares! Good Communicator - great at keeping me informed, organized and on the ball with due dates Works well with others - handles even the most difficult people very well (again, patience is a virtue) Handles complex matters very well Always pleasant and professional Logical and practical Always looking out for his client's best interest Excellent with follow through I'm sure there are many more qualities to add to this list, but if you're looking for a great probate lawyer, I believe this will really help break things down for you. It would have helped me a lot!!!

Fantastic Service

Stephen is terrific. He came highly recommended by an attorney friend and did not disappoint. He's friendly, professional and, most importantly, did a great job wrapping up a complicated estate. Why use an expensive law firm with impersonal service when Stephen will do a better job much faster and... at a more reasonable rate? I can't recommend him highly enough.

Drafted and Helped Execute Our Trust

Stephen drafted our trust and helped us to execute it since he's a notary as well. He was responsive and thorough and more reasonably priced than other lawyers we called. Ultimately, he was easy to work with and gave us good advice. Definitely would recommend him for estate planning.
