When I first engaged Jonathan Abrams, I had never had real access to an attorney of his quality. Sure, I've worked with good firms, but I've never been able to afford senior partners' billable rates for as much work as I really needed. Jon has a ridiculously impressive background and breadth of exper...ience. But he hasn't been swallowed up by one of those giant faceless firms, billing at one of those ungodly senior partner rates. He's a humble, approachable and efficient attorney, who just seems to know everything there is to know about the law and has direct, senior-level experience in everything I've thrown at him. Among other things, Jon has effectively and efficiently helped us through a fairly complicated partners' agreement for our business along with a new DBA structure and filings. He's also drafted a wide variety of multi-party agreements for our production company. He dependably recommends the wisest course to protect and maximize our interests, while minimizing extra time, frustration and ill will among our clients' and sub-contractors' negotiating and legal teams. I feel I benefit from his strategy of being strategic and even aggressive where it matters, and leaving alone things that don't actually bring unacceptable risk or have a high chance of impacting real-world outcomes. As you would expect of an attorney with Jon's training, he's also an innovator. For example, CA has famously broad protections against anything that slightly resembles a non-compete clause. But what happens when you need to hire an acclaimed director to work on your client's client's marketing campaign? And you really don't want that director to be able to go directly to any of those clients, or vice-versa, without involving you in future work? If Jon is your attorney, he will find an innovative way to keep you from being circumnavigated, with a minimal chance of running afoul of CA's non-compete protections. Jon is the best at what he does, and I refer all of my family law clients to him. Given his strong big firm and in-house background, he is fully equipped to deal with any corporate issue, at a fraction of the price that the big firms charge.
