Biography
My practice concentrations are Title IX advising and criminal defense.
I am a professional Title IX advisor for students and educational professionals. I primarily represent and advise Respondents (people who are accused of sexual harassment or other misconduct), but I offer my services to any person involved in a Title IX matter at any College or University throughout the United States, and any California public school student or teacher.
I am a Certified Specialist in Criminal Law (State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization). I have represented over 1000 clients in criminal matters, ranging in severity from misdemeanors to serious felonies, including rape, child molestation, robbery, arson, attempted murder and murder. I represent juvenile and adult clients in California courts.

In 2002, I earned the distinction of Certified Criminal Law Specialist from the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. I have been quoted in both legal and popular publications on various topics in criminal law, and I have been a commentator on Court TV for several legal proceedings, including the Michael Jackson trial. I have trained and mentored dozens of lawyers.
In Title IX matters, I represent and advise students and faculty throughout the United States.
In criminal defense, I primarily represent clients in Los Angeles and surrounding communities, but I accept felony cases throughout the state of California.

Replied last August 07, 2017I'm sorry that you were not satisfied with my services. I explained the terms of your hourly rate engagement agreement both verbally, and in the written agreement. You requested several in-person meetings, which I drove to at no extra charge. I also accepted your evening phone calls at no extra charge. You were billed for (1) the exact time of your total phone calls, within 1/10th of an hour; (2) the exact time of your total in person meetings, within 1/10th of an hour, and without including my time to go to your work for the meetings; and (3) The exact amount of time spend editing your documents and corresponding with you. When you were upset that your bill exceeded the original deposit, I accommodated you by reducing your bill to the deposited amount. I provided all of the time you asked for, at the terms we mutually agreed upon. Regarding the quality of services performed, we had hours of in-person meetings and telephone meetings. I coached you on your oral statement and responses to questions in your disciplinary meetings, and I coached you on your written rebuttal and edited it for you, as we agreed. I gave you all of the advice and assistance I could to help you in a very challenging situation. You were written up for at least four separate acts of misconduct and poort performance. I warned you repeatedly, from before you even hired me, that as a probationary employee with so many disciplinary matters in one school year, there was a strong possibility that no matter how well you defended your conduct from these write-ups. I am sorry I could not provide you the results you had hoped for. As your written agreement stated, I cannot guarantee the outcome, and no lawyer can guarantee the outcome of the services provided. Nevertheless, I did all that I could do to help you.
