Biography
Stephen Bernard has been a litigator for over 43 years. A native of Los Angeles, Mr. Bernard joined his father's law firm in 1973. His father, Saul J. Bernard, also a native of Los Angeles, was a prominent family law attorney who started his own firm in 1930s. Both father and son attended University of California, and Saul Bernard stopped practicing law upon his death.
Stephen Bernard gained his extensive criminal experience by becoming a Panel member of both Adult and Juvenile criminal penals where he was counsel of record in over 300 felony cases with crimes ranging from assaultive conduct to residential burglary and murder. With his experience in hand, Mr. Bernard continued his practice in this area as well as in the area of catastrophic injury and class action litigation. Mr. Bernard also represents major art collectors and dealers in international transactions involving some of the great art of our time. His broad expertise and extraordinary record have made him a formidable figure in the California legal arena.
Throughout his career Mr. Bernard has represented high profile clients, both civil and criminal, as well as prosecuted actions against OC Sherriff’s Department. He was instrumental in procuring the largest single class action settlement in California.
Mr. Bernard has over 40 years of of legal experience in medical legal cases which he uses to attack both forensic and medical experts on both civil and criminal arenas. Stephen Bernard handles large complex litigation cases involving complex legal issues and involves usage of multiple experts in the courtroom. He has tried cases in both Northern and Southern California, Orange County, Ventura County, Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County, Santa Barbara County, Florida, and Nevada.

Excellent Experience
