Douglas Arthur Bagby

A number of years ago my girlfriend Stacey had had a brake job done on her Isuzu Trooper at Peyton-Cramer Ford in Torrance California. When she picked the car up, the brakes failed completely and she rear-ended a car at an intersection. Peyton Cramer denied any responsibility and refused to pay for a...ny damages. We took them to court and they showed up with 4 of their corporate lawyers and 3 expert witnesses. On our side, we only had Stacey, one expert witness and our attorney, Doug Bagby who agreed to represent us for free. When we walked into court, Stacy and I were pretty intimidated by the huge legal force that this large corporation had commissioned to represent their side. Mr. Bagby however was not intimidated at all and proceeded to present a brilliant case for our side and totally discredited all of their claims that Peyton-Cramer Ford was not liable for damages. The judge was unhesitating in ruling in our favor. Mr. Bagby's competence, expertise and finesse were a thing to behold. We actually had goosebumps witnessing his magic in the courtroom. This was not a trial of the century but for a 20 something female going up against an army of corporate lawyers representing a huge corporation, the very justified victory made us want to kick up our heels and celebrate. We'll always remember this real-life legal victory and have retold the story on countless occasions.
