I have a record of achievement in both state and federal court. I understand that a criminal charge is frightening and that the process seems overwhelming. I work hard to turn over every leaf and achieve the best possible results.

Many of my clients are professionals for whom the consequences of a criminal conviction are far more drastic than for a non-licensed person. If you have a license, it is critical to hire an attorney who understands the administrative process and potential sanctions and who can manage you criminal case to get you the result that protects your livelihood. I have had tremendous success working with licensing agencies to keep my clients working and in good standing despite serious allegations.

OIG Suspension

Back in 2005, I did marketing for a medical clinic that my company had been contracted to do. Unfortunately, when I concluded that the marketing campaign that this doctor wanted done was considered illegal, I immediately stopped and cancelled my contract. Then in 2007, this same doctor was charged ...with Medi-Cal Fraud and the government included his illegal marketing campaigns back several years and thus, I was dragged into this mess. Even though I was able to prove that I had immediately stopped when I realized that is type of marketing was illegal, by then the government had built its case against me also. Long and short of it, I walked away with a misdemeanor, which I eventually had completely expunged in 2013. Then in November 2012, my current employer was doing an annual background check on all employees, when they discovered that I had been placed on the Office of Inspector General (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals. In other words, I was not allowed to work in my industry. According to my attorney back in 2007 when this case was settled, I was not supposed to have been placed on any state or federal exclusion lists. That did not matter, I was on the list and thus, I was terminated. I was forced to find new legal representation, and to my surprise, my employer’s legal counsel referred Ms. Touchton. I spoke to her once and she quickly scheduled an appointment. During the meeting, Ms. Touchton agreed to take on my case. Ms. Touchton quickly set about creating a firm plan of action, gathered all necessary documents and began contacting the appropriate parties to get me reinstated as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, the government works on its own timelines, and this ended up taking 7 months to get resolved. The ultimate resolution was beyond my expectations, my case with the OIG was completely dismissed, and I was able to return back to my previous employment with no fines or penalties. Amanda did a wonderful job of keeping me abreast of all activities on my case and offered constant reassurances that this would eventually be resolved in a positive manner. Amanda was always positive and very emphatic to my situation. I would highly recommend Amanda and her professional services if you’re ever in need of a great attorney.

BRN Accusation Against RN License Case

I received an Accusation against my RN license from the BRN due to a second DUI. I knew that I needed a lawyer to help sort out the legal aspects of my case to hopefully keep my license. I researched online, but I was personally referred to Ms. Touchton. Ms. Touchton is a criminal defense attorney... and did not know if she would take my case. We spoke over the phone and it turns out that she has had plenty of experience with professional licensing, and accepted my case. After meeting with me, she asked me to gather information for my case. Ms. Touchton quickly developed a plan and presented it to the BRN. She kept in touch with me via phone and email. She returned my phone calls and emails appropriately. Not only was she professional, but she was very personable and empathetic to my case. This was, and still is a tough time in my life. Even though I felt defeated, she kept me grounded and helped me focus on keeping my license, since I had worked so hard to achieve it. I could not have asked for a better lawyer for my case. I am so grateful that I was referred to Ms. Touchton. I put all of my trust in her, and hoped for the best. My case did not reach a hearing, and my license was not suspended. I am undergoing the standard probationary terms and time. I would definitely recommend Ms. Touchton.
