Absolutely Horrible

Watch out for this guy. I ran across him through an internet search, and selected him as I needed representation quite quick and all other attorneys contacted were either busy on other cases and didn't have enough time to adequately address the case or wanted way too much money. He offered a decent... deal - and being the wordsmith (not in the court) that he is with potential clients - he provided comfort and hope with his highly embellished confidence in himself. He took the money and then disappeared for an entire two weeks (all we had until the next court date). I was actually on pins and needles when the day of court came as I heard from him only the night before and it was through an email. When asked why he hadn't responded to my calls or emails he stated that he had been busy and was in the "law library" all night the night before and not to worry. Once in the courtroom he was completely unprepared, the judge reprimanded him, he was missing legal papers he should have had and even had to ask the opposing counsel to see said counsels copy of the legal document as Duane was unable to locate his. He tried to enter several key documents into evidence but was denied due to the fact he had not properly notified the court or properly prepared the documents for evidence. As a result - I got slammed. When all said and done he blamed the loss on ME! hahahah. Literally, amongst many reasons as to why the judge didn't go in my favor was because I wasn't wearing socks. Literally. After the dismal performance, I found that he had been reprimanded numerous times for attorney misconduct and substance abuse. He represented me in childrens court but I'm not so sure he even practices routinely in that area. Avoid this guy like the plague.

So Far So Good

Though we are just now starting the whole client attorney relationship, I must say I am happy with his responsiveness and knowledge about issues with my case thus far. He answers my calls and returns them as well. I like his approach to the family law thing, not wanting to punish the other party but ...make it fair. I like that. I like that he is a straight from the hip type of fellow and is not afraid to confront the other party. He does not come across as shy or easily intimidated in the courtroom when representing his client. This is my observation of him working with another client. So far, so good. I am happy. Fighting horrible minor's counsel who has other party's best interest, not child's. He seems to be excellent for the job being that cases dealing with MC are a bit of a challenge when having to confront them. Judge automaticly conditioned to go with MC and before looking at all facts in their face. I have seen other lawyers run with their tails tucked in after the hearing when MC is involved. Not this guy. He fights back.
