Stephen R. Harris

Stephen R. Harris is a highly experienced attorney with a career spanning over four decades, primarily in Chapter 11 business bankruptcy. His journey into law began in Las Vegas during his teenage years, where he worked for James E. Rogers, Esq., whose mentorship inspired Steve to pursue a legal career. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and his law degree from the University of San Diego, becoming a licensed Nevada attorney in 1974.
Steve began his career at the Federal Public Defender’s office in Reno, where he developed his courtroom skills, achieving seven acquittals in eight jury trials. In 1976, he entered private practice and soon shifted his focus to bankruptcy law, guided by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Bert Goldwater. Since then, Steve has been involved in over 1,000 Chapter 11 cases, 5,000 Chapter 7 cases, and 400 Chapter 13 cases, representing debtors, trustees, and creditors.
