Tom really made a difference in our case. He was the third attorney we had and the only one that did what he said he would. Nothing was going in our favor until Tom took our case. He did exactly what he said he would and was able to have the entire amount of money that was seized from us returned.... He was upfront from the beginning, did what he said he would, and was the only one that helped. We are extremely thankful that we found Tom and had his help with our case.

I hired Mr. Papez to handle 2 situations for me. He did nothing but take my money and had no results to show for it. He swore to me that he was an excellent litigator and thus could take on a divorce as it would be easy with all of his experience. He was wrong. He claimed he filed all the motions... and requests I asked him to do, but I later discovered from the courts that he NEVER filed a single thing I requested of him. He was completely unknowledgeable to court room procedures, the timeframes in which things had to be served, filed, etc.., what motions were needed, what oppositions were required, and he would become angry and livid when any questioned what he was doing. He would yell and scream obscenities at me when I questioned his abilities. He managed to get into a screaming match in court which resulted in the Commissioner kicking us out of court. During a failed deposition (due to his negligence), he got into a screaming with match with opposing counsel and it was then that I knew I had to fire him however I had paid him $40,000.00 and I had yet to get any of the promised work seen to completion. He will not provide accounting despite numerous requests, he will not keep you appraised of communication between the other side and himself, and he will be highly unprofessional and rude if you ask him to explain what he is doing, and in my case, he made lewd and inappropriate comments to me which made me highly uncomfortable. His overall professional ethics are highly questionable and his actual work produced will be minimal, and when you ask him about it, he will try to tell you it is either your fault, you do not understand the law, or threaten to drop your case if you question him because he is the "Lawyer". In my opinion, you would be better suited to hire a different attorney with a better background and track record.

I was surprised to see the reviews when I searched for a fax number for Tom. I am sure he has represented all sorts of folks, but my experience is nothing short of fantastic. Forget what you know about lawyers. I know a few and Tom is the nicest, brightest most honest lawyer you'll ever know. He real...ly cares about his clients and what is best course of action. In our case, he warned us of all the risks going to court vs. settlement. He worked hard on my case ( a very complicated multiple party inheritance case that went to court). He has uncanny recall of law, statutes and was great at gently educating the judge to the "law" as it affected our case. I was really impressed. I've used him since then on a traffic issue... and it went away. Can't say enough good things about Tom. Recommend him highly.
