also known as Lance White Law PLLC, Lance White Law
Before forming Lance White Law, I was an owner and partner of Widdis and White, a family law firm. Prior to that, I served as a Family Court Master for the Second Judicial District Court in Washoe County. In that role, I heard over 16,000 cases involving a myriad of family law issues, including child support enforcement, domestic violence and protection orders, juvenile guardianships, and juvenile dependency cases. I also have experience with juvenile delinquency, divorce, custody, visitation, and adoption cases.
In deciding a case, a judicial officer must know the law, know the facts, and be able to understand both sides of every argument. I carry that ability with me into private practice. I will give you an objective, honest opinion about your case and not just tell you what I think you want to hear.
I attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. After I graduated, I served as a Judicial Law Clerk to three different Family Court Judges here in Reno, Nevada. Through that experience, I came to realize how important the “legal" side of the family legal system is, and how important it is to have a strong and compassionate advocate on your side.
I have been licensed to practice law in Nevada since 2006 and have appeared in Federal Court and State District Court throughout the State of Nevada. I have also served as a Judicial Law Clerk to three different Family Court Judges. I am also a Certified Mediator through the National Judicial College. If you'd like to discuss mediation as a possibility in your case, let me know.
The decisions made in family court affect your entire life, forever. They affect the relationships you have with your spouse, your partner, your parents, your family, your children - and those are the most important things in life.
I believe that being a good lawyer also means being a good teacher. Helping clients understand what’s happening and explaining legal matters in a straightforward way is one of the best parts of being an attorney. I have taught family law issues locally, at the statewide Nevada Family Law Conference, and at national judicial conferences. I also taught aspiring paralegals at a local career college.
My greatest adventures have been climbing in Antarctica, hiking Monte Fitz Roy in Argentina, skydiving, and parenting two rowdy boys - the most dangerous and important adventure of all.

I've been on the opposing side in several cases with Lance, and in my experience, he's ineffective and pursues extreme positions. He lost every matter I was involved in, such as arguing against a child's necessary dental care because his client felt 'uncomfortable' (despite the client not having visi...

Fabulous, thorough, and unbelievably knowledgeable in their field. Lance took care of my divorce with children and an EPO. HE not only took most the stress off my shoulders, but legitimately got me every single thing I requested, including primary custody, child support, and alimony. So impressed wi...
"Lance is attentive to his cases and clients, treats peers with respect, and is incredibly knowledgeable in this field. His background as a Family Court Master gives him a valuable perspective and skill set in litigation. His legal mind is creative and strategic. His personal background gives him a unique perspective in family law cases. Lance meaningfully pursues settlement, but does not shy away from the courtroom. It is so important in this field to balance a solid work ethic with not taking oneself too seriously. Lance makes it look effortless, much to the benefit of those lawyers, clients and staff around him."
"Lance White fully grasps the rules of evidence and has a strong understanding of issues related to child custody. I endorse Lance White."
"I have known and practiced in front of Lance for several years, and respect his his knowledge of the law and balanced judgment in hard cases. I'm glad to see him in private practice."
"I have found Attorney White to be professional, courteous, and a student of the law. He is compassionate and willing to listen, but also a strong advocate willing to fight for his clients."
