L. Christopher Rose is a shareholder of the law firm of Jolley Urga Wirth Woodbury & Standish. His practice areas include business and commercial litigation; real estate litigation; corporate, limited liability company and partnership law and litigation; construction law and litigation and enforcement of mechanic’s liens (representing general contractors, sub-contractors, owners and lenders); restrictive covenants and non-compete agreements; and appellate practice. Mr. Rose practices in both state and federal court and has also litigated cases in arbitration, including the American Arbitration Association and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Mr. Rose has also represented clients in administrative hearings before a variety of governmental agencies. Mr. Rose earned his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and his law degree from the University of Idaho, graduating magna cum laude, third in his class. In law school, Mr. Rose was Symposium Edition Editor of the Idaho Law Review and was named Idaho Law Review Editor of the Year. The Idaho Law Review published his article, “Nevada’s Court Annexed Arbitration Program: A Solution to Some of the Causes of Dissatisfaction With the Civil Justice System” (36 Idaho L. Rev. 171, 1999). Mr. Rose also received the Faculty Award for Recognition of Outstanding Academic Achievement. Mr. Rose has also written and been published in business publications on varying legal topics. He is admitted in the State of Nevada, the United Stated District Court for the District of Nevada, and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
In March 2008, Mr. Rose was invited to join, and has since served as part of, the faculty for the Deposition Program of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) – a non-profit organization committed to teaching and training lawyers in trial and litigation skills. In joining the faculty, Mr. Rose works with judges and other practicing lawyers from across the nation in teaching deposition skills to lawyers of varying experience at large and small firms from across the country.
When away from the office, Mr. Rose enjoys spending time with his wife and their children, three sons and a daughter.
