Michael D Haight

Michael D. Haight is a founding partner and co-owner of Henness & Haight Injury Attorneys in Las Vegas, where he has spent nearly three decades representing people injured through no fault of their own. His practice includes car and truck accidents, catastrophic injuries, commerical trucking accident crashes, defectictive product, wrongful death, premises liability, and other serious personal injury matters.

Michael's family is originally from Buffalo, New York, but they moved to Las Vegas in 1976. He grew up in the valley, graduated from Valley High School, attended Dixie College on an athletic scholarship, and later earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. He received his law degree from Willamette University College of Law and was admitted to the Nevada Bar in 1995.

Michael began his career on the defense side of personal injury litigation, representing drivers involved in automobile accident claims. That experience gave him valuable firsthand insight into how insurance companies evaluate, defend, and resolve injury claims.

In 1998, he made the decision to use that knowledge on behalf of injured people and has focused his practice on personal injury law ever since.

Together with his partner, Mark G. Henness, Michael built Henness & Haight around a simple philosophy: clients deserve experienced attorneys who listen, communicate, and remain personally involved in their cases. Michael understands that a serious injury can affect far more than a person's physical health. It can create financial pressure, disrupt a family, and leave someone uncertain about what comes next. He brings that perspective to every client he represents.

His work has earned significant recognition within the legal community. Michael holds an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for professional excellence and ethical standards. He has also been recognized as a Top 100 Litigation Lawyer and Top 100 Trial Lawyer, is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and has been selected to Super Lawyers every year from 2021 through 2026.

Michael has remained actively involved in Nevada's legal community throughout his career. He has been a member of the Nevada Justice Association since 1996 and has served as a Governor and Pillar of Justice for the organization. He is also a longtime member of the Clark County Bar Association and the American Association for Justice.

He is admitted to practice in Nevada, the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Outside the office, Michael remains closely connected to the Las Vegas community where he grew up and built his career. He enjoys spending time with his family, outdoor activities, traveling, supporting UNLV athletics, coaching youth sports, and participating in charitable organizations throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

After more than 30 years in practice, Michael continues to focus on the same thing that has defined his career: giving injured people an experienced advocate who understands the system, stays personally involved, and fights to help them move forward.
