Antony Michel Santos

Admitted to practice law in Connecticut and Nevada, my primary focus is on corporate and securities litigation, regulatory compliance, commercial transactions and bankruptcy.  My legal career began with an emphasis on commercial law and taxation, particularly international aspects of U. S. income taxation and cross-border commercial transactions. In 1996 I worked with Barros, Sobral & Gomes in Lisbon, Portugal office. Aside from sailing most weekends up and down the Tejo river in Lisbon, I gained a familiarity with EU law and transnational, and privatization projects in emerging markets including Brazil, Mozambique and Portugal.. I also worked with Madeira Fiducia, an offshore tax consultancy firm in Funchal, Madeira.

Upon my return to the United States, I worked from 1996-1998 with the law firm of Fazzano, Tomasiewcz, & Dewey in Hartford, Connecticut. My work there included litigation support and trial work, particularly involving corporate fraud and fiduciary issues. In 1999 My wife and I relocated to Nevada where I was recruited to serve as legal principal and counsel to a regional, securities brokerage and investment banking firm.  During this time I served as special counsel and regulatory compliance consultant to numerous public and private, domestic and foreign business interests.  While qualifying for the Nevada Bar, I worked as a litigation consultant for a number of law firms in Nevada and California specifically involving complex litigation, real estate transactions and bankruptcy reorganizations.

I attended the University of Connecticut as both an undergraduate and graduate student in the Department of Economics Undergraduate and Master’s Programs respectively. I received my J.D. at the University of Connecticut, School of Law.
