Ronald E. Gillette

Mr. Gillette was licensed and admitted to practice before all State and Federal courts of Nevada in January 1994. He joined Black & LoBello in 2008.

Mr. Gillette’s legal practice is focused on positioning businesses for success. Having served as general counsel for many start up companies, which are now well established, Mr. Gillette has a unique combination of legal and business acumen.

Mr. Gillette has extensive experience in the areas of corporate formation, governance, business record keeping and retention, operations, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, strategic planning (short and long term), litigation avoidance, contract preparation and negotiation.

During his tenure as general counsel with a local homebuilder, Mr. Gillette drafted all formation and governance documents, acquired all related regulatory licenses and exemptions, procured insurance and bonding, secured financing, hired personnel, acquired real estate for development, coordinated all entitlements and permits necessary for construction, and drafted all related contracts and documentation. It is Mr. Gillette’s hand’s on experience in all facets of business start- up and operations that gives him his unique and pragmatic approach.

As a clerk to the Honorable Donald M. Mosley, Eighth Judicial District Court, Mr. Gillette’s early career centered on litigation. His court appearances continued with many years in private practice as a litigator in the areas of insurance defense, construction defect, jobsite injury, and premises defense.

A native Nevadan, Mr. Gillette received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in Philosophy, from Loyola Marymount University in 1989. He then earned his Juris Doctorate in 1992 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
