John Netto

I am the Founder and Managing Attorney of Unit of Risk Legal Advisors LLC. I synthesize law, finance, and risk architecture. I am the creator of the Juris-Macro Investment Framework, a method for evaluating regulatory environments, statutory frameworks, and company-specific legal exposure within a global macro context. My law practice focuses on derivatives trading matters, structured finance, M&A strategy, discovery/litigation support, loss contingency reporting arising from ASC 450, and trust & estate planning. Before entering the legal profession, I spent more than two decades as a derivatives trader and macro risk specialist, developing and executing frameworks for understanding volatility, event risk, and cross-asset positioning. That trading background informs my approach to legal analysis, giving me a risk-based lens for dissecting corporate, regulatory, and litigation risk. I am currently completing my MBA at UNLV’s Lee Business School, with coursework focused on accounting, M&A, financial modeling, and entity taxation that integrates statistical modeling with legal and corporate analysis.
I earned my J.D., magna cum laude, from UNLV’s Boyd School of Law, where I externed with the Nevada Supreme Court and the ADR/Discovery Commission. I passed the Nevada Bar Examination with an MBE score in the top quartile nationally ().
