Scott David Thornton

I am the founder and principal attorney at The Thornton Firm, LLC headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada.    My practice centers around patent and intellectual property law with a primary emphasis focused on patent applications and prosecution.  

My firm serves inventors, innovators and the small businesses.  We use the best and latest technology available to deliver a high quality product at highly competitive rates.  We take a no nonsense approach to business and have the ability to adapt to changing times and consumer needs.  

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a double major in chemistry and history and earned my law degree from Touro Law Center in New York.  I am licensed in the state of New York and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  My firm is able to represent clients in all 50 states in matters pertaining to federal patents, trademarks and copyrights. 

I enjoy both the scientific and philosophical underpinnings of the United States' patent system.  To me, working to "promote the progress of science and the useful arts" is more than just a means of earning a living--It is a genuine privilege and honor to be a part of a system that has secured the United States' place as a global leader in science and innovation.

My wife and I relocated to Las Vegas in 2012, and we consider it to be among the best places in the United States to live and do business.  We enjoy maintaining a near perfect balance of work, outdoor recreation, learning and family.
