Jonathan K. Nelson

Jonathan K. Nelson built his legal career on a foundation of business insight, genuine client dedication, and a belief that Southern Nevada deserves a law firm that fights as hard in the conference room as it does in the courtroom.

After earning his Bachelor's in Finance (2001) and M.B.A. from Grand Valley State (2003), Jonathan obtained his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2008. Before entering private practice, he spent a decade in corporate banking negotiating complex, high-value transactions — experience that gives him a strategic edge in settlement negotiations and litigation that few attorneys can match.

In 2012, Jonathan was admitted to the Nevada Bar and launched JK Nelson Law with a single principle: put clients first and results will follow. That vision resonated. The firm has since grown to three locations across Southern Nevada — Pahrump, Cimarron in Southwest Las Vegas, and Summerlin — serving clients in personal injury, family law, probate, estate planning, and criminal defense.

Jonathan and his team represent accident victims, families navigating divorce and custody, and individuals managing estates and probate throughout Clark and Nye Counties. The firm offers Spanish-language representation through bilingual attorneys and case managers — ensuring every client receives full, clear communication regardless of language.

Licensed in Nevada, Michigan, and the Federal Courts for the District of Nevada, Jonathan serves as Official Legal Counsel to the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Chamber's Board of Directors. He has re-established the firm's longstanding engagement with the Pahrump Senior Center and remains one of Pahrump's most active community-facing attorneys.
