Joel Scott Hengstler

Joel is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. In 1999, he moved to Chicago to pursue acting. Joel performed lead roles in many plays, including “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “The Italian Straw Hat”. Joel completed his undergraduate degree in Speech Communication at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 2002. While there, he won numerous forensics awards; including a gold medal in the Speech and Entertainment category at the 2001 national tournament. He was also the lead member of the school’s Mock Trial team earning many “Outstanding Attorney” awards.

Joel attended Law School at Drake Law School in Des Moines, Iowa. He represented Drake Law School as a member of the National Moot Court team and the National Mock Trial team winning awards each year. While in school, Joel volunteered his time serving as a student attorney at the Drake Legal Clinic; representing indigent clients and interning with the Polk County Attorney’s office. Joel graduated from Drake Law School in 2006.

Joel began his legal career in Reno, Nevada. He initially worked for a small firm representing clients in the areas of estate planning and family law. In 2009, Joel accepted the position of Managing Attorney of a personal injury firm in Las Vegas. Although originally intending to practice in the area of criminal law, he discovered a profound passion for advocating on behalf of accident injury victims and their families.

Joel is an Associate Attorney at the Nettles Law Firm. He is a member of the Nevada Justice Association (NJA) and the American Association of Justice (AAJ). Joel seeks to combine his passion for helping injured victims with his talent for public speaking to ensure the highest quality representation of his clients. Joel still enjoys the arts and has not completely rid himself of the acting bug. Ask nicely and he may tell you the story about Bat Masterson.
