Great results

Kate was a pleasure to work with. All my request were taken care of. I was very pleased with the results of my case.

I would not recommend

After paying $400 for a consultation (which their website says are free), i then gave a $3500 retainer, later signing my interest in my multi million dollar trusts to them as collateral. I hired Kates firm Hayes Wakayama in April ‘22 & was immediately delegated to Kate who was there a few months & ...through no fault of hers, never told I’d be having little to no further communication with any senior lawyer directly. Kate is a good writer to her credit but there was a lot of miscommunication and she was usually unable to give me any information without checking first with Liane first. Miscommunications like nobody told me if I accepted tax returns I’d forfeit right forensic accounting, & more delay was caused because they failed for weeks to tell me I needed to demand an accounting if I wanted one. I sent an expensive basket about $200 with delivery to try & warm them but neither Kate or her boss Liane acknowledged let alone thanked me which I thought was rude..I had to ask finally if they got it & she said yes nobody thanked me. A few weeks after retaining them with no contact with anyone but Kate I received a hostile letter saying maybe we’re not the right firm for you which ended up being a mistake they made about the word colleague but it was evident they didn’t want me there after the consult & retainer was paid. The most devastating part was when the hearing we waited months for arrived & Kates boss decided not to go, leaving Kate to attend. It was a disaster. The other Atty lied repeatedly while Kate failed to intervene, when she did speak the judge once then the other lawyer interrupted her. It was months more time we had to wait for the next hearing which her boss promised she’d attend & fix things, saying she had a great rapport with that judge but even months later Kate still failed to ask for any of my 50% of the personal property other than photos which the trustee wouldn’t give me, just 50 she chose. Kate never was able to, nor asked for anything for me despite 50% was mine. I paid about $60,000 after 9 months, and only got a couple of hundred thousand dollars to pay bills & house damage, not a pen or purse or a single item did I ask for nor did they ask for. Kate tried to tell me how great a settlement it would be to get $50,000 in exchange for signing away my rights to ever sue the trustee & to approve a very questionable accounting of the 10 months after my moms death ( more than $19 million dollars in stocks & missing accounts were unaccounted for in the prior 10 years accounting & Kate said the other lawyer was over-billing & double billing which sue made part of the upcoming hearing so it’s very odd they’d want me to even consider, let alone accept an offer like that. There were many mistakes & oversights like the last hearing to withdraw Kate said I didn’t need to be there, when they knew I did so thankfully another lawyer told me to gi anyway. I’m grateful now for the experience as it got me to a reputable Attorney I trust will put an end to the shenanigans the other side has been getting away with for over a year now. Fairly, Kate is a great writer though & the staff was professional & polite.
