Hired in Feb 2013 for retired military divorce which is a bit trickier than civilian. He didn't consult me regarding what I wanted to include in decree, and said it was ready to file before I even saw papers. When I objected and stated I wanted to discuss specifics with him first things came to a scr...eeching halt, he was never available to discuss it with me. Over two months I called numerous times to try to talk with him or set a time to discuss my particulars and he always had another client that he was with, which translated to "more important". I did finally give him a deadline to get the paperwork submitted and he missed that. I had to request my retainer back as he never did any work that I saw. By the time I hired another lawyer, I had to move and am still trying to do things long distance.
