Lauren Armstrong the owner of Origin Immigration Law and has over a decade of experience as an immigration attorney. She has handled hundreds of immigration cases and has particular expertise regarding family cases, victim advocacy, and protections for children and youth.
Ms. Armstrong received her J.D. (Cum Laude) and M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico in 2009 and received her B.S. (High Honors) from the University of Illinois in 2002.
From 2010-2012, Ms. Armstrong worked in the non-profit sector in Washington, D.C. Ms. Armstrong served as a Program Specialist with Polaris Project’s National Human Trafficking Resource Center, and later worked as a Staff Attorney with the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition where she provided training, pro se assistance, and direct representation to detained immigrants in removal proceedings.
From 2012-2015, Ms. Armstrong worked with Catholic Charities of Southern New Mexico, where she handled a diverse caseload (including naturalization, DACA, and family-based cases) and led the agency's programs for undocumented children (SIJS) and crime victims (VAWA, U Visa).
In 2015, Ms. Armstrong transitioned into private practice and joined Noble Vrapi, where she helped establish the firm's Las Cruces office. From 2015-2021, Ms. Armstrong served as an Associate Attorney and Senior Associate with the firm, handling a wide variety of cases including waivers, fiance visas, and complex humanitarian cases.
Ms. Armstrong is an Adjunct Professor at New Mexico State University (NMSU) where she teaches courses on Gender & Immigration. Ms. Armstrong has also served as a Board member of the State Bar's Immigration Section. Ms. Armstrong is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Panama ’02-’05) and is fluent in Spanish.
