Salcedo & Co - Boutique Firm, Excessive Fees, Ineffective Representation Our experience with Salcedo & Co left us deeply dissatisfied. They assigned our case to an attorney who had only been a lawyer for several months. Despite charging approximately $24,000 in legal fees, their primary recommenda...tion--after the inexperienced attorney's initial filings were rejected by the judge--was to completely concede to the opposing attorney's demands. Given the circumstances, we could have reached that conclusion without costly legal representation. Managing Attorney Isidro Salcedo failed to keep us informed about critical filings, including one that the judge ruled "was not well received" by the court. Instead of providing an honest assessment, Mr. Salcedo downplayed the ruling as insignificant, leaving us misinformed at a key stage in our case. Associate Attorney Ricardo Pena disregarded our input on strategy, and his primary arguments were also rejected by the judge. If legal professionals are to justify their fees, they should demonstrate measurable success--something we did not see from Salcedo & Co. On top of ineffective representation, their billing practices felt excessive and unnecessarily complex. Their boutique model assigns multiple attorneys to a case, resulting in inflated charges where three to five individuals bill for even minor tasks like reading emails. This approach quickly escalates costs without adding value to the case.
