Biography
Kathryn Lynn Whitehead (Lynn) is a 1995 graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and socio legal studies. She received her juris doctor in 2005 from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
After passing the Florida Bar in 2006, she joined U.S. Bank National Association's Corporate Trust Group working on corporate and municipal finance transactions. Ms. Whitehead worked exclusively with the Auction Rate Security Product and was a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) model auction procedures taskforce.
In October 2009, she and her fiance moved to New Mexico to pursue a new career as a sole practitioner. She passed the New Mexico Bar in April 2010 and is the owner of a multifaceted law practice in Sierra County, New Mexico. Her practices area are:
- divorce, child custody, and paternity matters,
- Estate planning, including wills, trusts and healthcare proxies
- land use, real estate and development issues,
- promoting sustainable growth in the area, and
- all corporate related issues including corporate set up, mergers, winding up corporate entities, and various contractual transactions.
