Guy W. Bluff has more than 40 years’ experience in the areas of complex commercial, business, and construction legal disputes. 35+ years as a seasoned trial lawyer, appearing before numerous State and Federal Courts, Arbitration Tribunals, Administrative Boards, and Courts of Appeal. As a business owner, systems designer, and general counsel for numerous regional construction companies and developers, Mr. Bluff has acquired a unique insight into the operations of companies and their teams – including accounting, payroll, human resources, insurance, risk avoidance, project scheduling, and project coordination. He has designed specific operational systems to minimize duplication of effort and to streamline processes. With a diverse educational and professional background, Bluff has been able to spearhead multi-department corporate projects to an efficient and cohesive end. He possess an exceptional ability to quickly understand and communicate the goals, hurdles, and interactions of each team.
Since the mid 1980's, Mr. Bluff has been involved in more than 2,500 construction and commercial-related disputes and claims, including disputes in-excess-of $100,000,000. He represents private owners and developers, general and specialty contractors, subcontractors, materialmen, engineers, architects, and sureties in all aspects of construction and business related disputes. As an Arbitrator, Mediator, Dispute Resolution Umpire and Settlement Judge pro tem, Mr. Bluff has conducted hundreds of proceedings. In the areas of construction and business licensing, Mr. Bluff has designed a cloud-based, specialty corporate licensing database which tracks a company’s licensing requirements and maintenance for upwards of 1000 different jurisdictions throughout the western United States.
Since 1972, Mr. Bluff was directly involved in the construction industry as a laborer, equipment operator, foreman, and project engineer. He is an owner and principal of a mid-size general engineering construction firm with projects throughout the Southwest.
A prolific public speaker and author on construction claims preparation, mechanic liens, and law office technology. As a developer, he holds several federal Copyrights for complex computer programs for automating document management in law firms
