Kat Fox

Kat Fox, J.D., has a well-earned reputation for being self-driven and extremely dedicated, both in the legal profession and in her own professional development in general. Her main focus is providing a great client experience, guiding them through each step of the legal process so as to feel in control of their own outcomes. Her experience with mediation also means she can help clients and their families accomplish much outside of the stressors of the courtroom setting.

Of her practice, Kat emphasizes “I enjoy the interaction with clients and providing one-on-one assistance and counsel, with the knowledge that, although I may have many cases, for my clients, their case is the most important and stressful thing happening in their life.”

A New Mexico native, Kat graduated high school early at age 15 to pursue a degree in sociology from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She then obtained her Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School. As a student, she worked for the Radiation Exposure Screening and Education Program (RESEP), a federally funded organization that monitors the health of former coal miners and provides them with periodic screenings. She then served as a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Tribal Relations in coordination with Food Policy Councils stationed in reservations throughout the country. During this time, she also served as a Student Leader on the Indigenous Food and Agricultural initiative, all while simultaneously pursuing her J.D. In her last years of Law School, Kat acted as a Certified Student Attorney for the Drake University Legal Clinic and the Polk County Attorney’s Office in Des Moines, Iowa. All this, accomplished before she had even completed law school.

Kat’s hard work in the courtroom and the office has marked her as someone prepared to take on nearly anything that comes her way. She joins New Mexico Financial & Family Law to lend her expertise to Family Law and Estate Planning cases.
