Lindsay G Mellen

I graduated from Arizona State University in 1999 with a BA in Political Science and from law school in 2002. I have practiced exclusively in the area of family and domestic relations law since completing law school. I began practicing law in Chicago, Illinois at the law firm of Nottage and Ward in 2002 until 2004. I then moved to Tucson, Arizona and worked at the law firm of Donau & Bolt. In 2010, I started my own law firm. I have served as a civil traffic hearing officer in Yavapai County, adjudicating on contested traffic citations.

I am currently the President of the Coconino County Bar Association. I was a member of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society while living in Chicago. I assisted in founding a chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society in Tucson. I served as the chapter's first treasurer.

I have handled divorces in all income and property ranges, including high end divorces. I have handled complex, contested custody matters. I have handled many paternity cases.

 

I am a trained mediator. As such, I am an advocate of pairing mediation with litigation to resolve these highly emotional and often complicated issues. My belief is that mediation generally brings about a better result for everyone involved and should be the first choice for resolving issues. However, I recognize that not every case is conducive to mediation due to high conflict and even abuse. Therefore, I always keep litigation available for when things cannot be done any other way.
