OUTCOME: Guilty on dui slightest charge. All other charges dismissed

After a year long battle asking for a plea to the minimums, there was a trial. The prosecutor dismissed the extreme charge after realizing they could not prove the case. At that point, might as well ... go to trial and see what happens. The result was guilty on the impaired slightest degree charge but the result was better than the offer. Offer was 5 days but after the trial, the sentence was only 1 day.

Don't ever give up hope. Even in the harshest of environments where no plea is offered and it seems like everything is lost, it is always important to keep fighting. Knowing this request was going to ... be denied I asked the judge to at least reserve ruling until hearing the testimony at a trial. The judge agreed to reserve the ruling. The prosecutor may have said no to any pleas, but at the trial, upon hearing the officer's testimony as well as the defendant, the judge made a rare decision granting the request to dismiss the case with driving school, even at the alleged speed.
