Joel Nathaniel Thurston

With degrees in Biblical Theology, Divinity, and Law, Joel N. Thurston began his career with ten years of government service before entering private practice. For twelve years he lectured in religious studies at Glendale Community College and, since 2004, has served as a founding elder and resident theologian at Journey Church in Peoria, Arizona. As managing partner at Keist Thurston Law Firm since 2017, he carries forward a 30-year legacy by opening a second office and advancing the firm’s five “C” ethos—Christian, client-focused, competent, creative, and competitive.

Joel’s litigation experience covers civil, business, personal injury, family law, and probate. He handles complex, high-stakes disputes—wrongful death and seven-figure settlements alike—but his true passion lies in mediation, saving clients time, cost, and emotional strain, especially in divorce and custody matters. Away from the courtroom, Joel is an elite ultramarathoner who has tackled races up to 250 miles, demonstrating the grit he applies in law. Grounded in faith and prayer, he strives to reflect compassion, integrity, and the fruits of the Spirit in all he does.
