No good thing ever happens in court. Most lawyers won't tell you this.
When a new client comes to my office, I do everything in my power to convince them not to involve attorneys. I do not relish helping grownups fight over toys in a sandbox. If I am told, "It's the principal," I ask a prospective client please to articulate said principal. Nine times out of ten, they cannot do so. For those that do come up with an answer, I then ask if the stated principal is worth $100,, which is about the least they can expect to pay for litigation through trial. Clients who have not been through litigation often don't understand that the other side is likely not interested in what's right, what's fair, or what the outcome should be. Rather, the other side is probably interested in one thing: billing fees. (Note: If your lawyer has monogrammed coasters, you are paying too much in attorneys' fees.) Sadly, most lawyers are not in the business of pursuing justice, they are in the business of making money. This should change your cost-benefit analysis before pursuing litigation.
Nevertheless, unfortunately there are times when lawyers become a necessary evil. I am a pragmatist, which is an odd feature in a my profession. My clients know that I am all about efficiency and care about their bottom line. I do everything in my power to minimize fees and expedite results while delivering quality work product. I see zealous representation as a job description. If I do not believe in your case, I won't take it.

When looking for a competent lawyer, we believe that one would be making a wise decision in selecting Heather Hendrix! !
Heather Hendrix has been an extra-ordinary legal counselor for us. She is extremely organized, an effective communicator, solution minded & refreshingly pragmatic! Although these are traits that most anyone would desire from professional counsel, Heather transcends those skills by adding an additio...

Excellent
I have been using Heather for about two years now, and I have to say she is a pleasure to work with. Watching her in a complex negotiation is something of an art form--except if one were on the receiving end. In summary, she is excellent to work with, communicates easily, works quickly, and bills f...

Simply the best
A piece of my commercial real estate had been tied up in litigation that had dragged on for nearly six years when I hired Heather to take over my case. She aggressively pursued the matter, obtained records the other side had been hiding, discovered where they had misdirected funds, and wrenched the ...
"I had the pleasure of clerking for Heather while in law school and was honored to be invited to continue working for her as a lawyer for three years at The Hendrix Law Office. You will not find a more detailed and hard working attorney. Heather has a unique way of looking at every case and is never afraid of a challenge."
"I have collaborated with Heather Hendrix on several legal issues over the years I have known her. She is one of the most creative and persistent attorneys I have had the pleasure of working with. I endorse this lawyer."

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
"In the past several years that I have known and worked with Heather, I have found her to be one of the most detail oriented, focused and ethical lawyers in the industry. I have worked with Heather on several issues and would highly recommend her as a true professional."
"I've known Heather since she contacted me through the State Bar's Mentor Program. She has always been an intelligent, intense and quick attorney, and has always been particularly interested in staying inside the ethical rules while vigorously representing her clients. After getting to know her sincerity about quality practice, I referred her several clients in matters ranging from litigation to general business representation. Every one, without exception, has sung her praises to me, and thanked me for the referral. Because some of the people I referred were very sophisticated consumers of legal services, who were working on time sensitive projects, I was impressed with Heather's ability to understand what a client wants to get done, and to get it done on time and on budget."
