I am currently the Managing Parter at Davis Miles McGuire and Gardner, PLLC.  And I love what I do.  

The practice of law is a wonderful career.  We get to help people every day do things they cannot do on their own.  It is upon our work that the wheels of commerect move, the freedoms of the people of this land are protected, and disputes are settled in non-vilent forums.  And the attorneys and staff I work with are some of the most talented professionals I've known; and they are outstanding individuals. 

What we do, day in and day out,  as lawyers is important work, whether it's helping handle a traffic ticket, assisting on the purchase or sale of a multimillion dollar business or piece of real estate, or holdeing the hand of a person who has just lost of loved one.

During my career, i have handled many large real estate transactions, complex tax matters, high-end estate and gift planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, captive insurance company work, 1031 exchanges, complex parternship and limited liabiiity restructures and formations, work outs, commercial loan transactions (both representing lenders and borrowers), pension and profit sharing matters, business disputes and other areas of contract and business law. I have also not been bashful about referring work to lawyers who I felt were more qualified to do the work, or who, I felt could do it more economically than I could.

I have built several successful busiesses, in addition to law firms:   and (which I still own with my family) are two of the enterprises I have started with others. , one of the largest sites on the Web for scrapbooking and paper arts, was really the idea of my wife.  Because here, at this law firm, we understand not only the special legal problems of busines owners and entreprenuers, but we also understand the business problems they face, we can bring a special perspective to the issues facing businesses and their owners--whether they are large businesses or small.

I enjoy writing and have written  a number of stories, books and poems. I have  written for national magazines on legal and busines topics and have published many fiction stories.  I have had a legal book, a novel and a children's book published.

I worked my way through college as a guitar player and singer.

I never know if I am the right attorney (or we are the right firm) for any given case, until I meet with the cleint and understand what it is they need, what they are trying to accomplish.  I have helped clients save millions of dollars in taxes, start their businesses, negotiate complex contracts and solve problems with their neighbors.
