We received approval for the I-526 petition for the EB-5 visa today. We processed the petition through participation in the Group 61 Hillwood project by the CMB company. Regarding the project itself, CMB independently provides the necessary supporting documents 'turnkey' to the relevant governmen...t structures, and the immigration service had no questions about the project. All documentation from CMB was provided to us electronically. You simply forward it to your lawyer, and that's it. We waited for approvals for four years; during this time, we had to change two lawyers (the first one ceased his status, the second one, a Russian-speaking partner, left, and it was difficult to explain Russian specificity). As a result, in the summer of 2023, we turned to the third licensed immigration lawyer, Natalia Polukhtin. We chose Natalia based on positive reviews from friends and her clients. She is the author of the book 'Immigration in Detail,' which can be used as a guide at the beginning of your journey. In fact, we started working with Natalia before receiving a request for additional documents (which might not have been received at all, but we had a complex case and decided to act anticipating events), as we wanted to be prepared for any development. After reviewing the documents, she defined a strategy, according to which we started to act (it's worth noting that the strategy contradicted what our previous lawyers and our own opinion suggested, but we decided to follow Natalia's advice considering her experience). In September 2023, a request for additional documents was received. The request was quite extensive, but considering that Natalia was already familiar with our case and had access to all the documentation, she formed and sent a response within two weeks, exceeding 300 pages. As a result, two weeks later, we received approval. We are satisfied with our cooperation with Natalia; she confidently tells us what needs to be done, is punctual, and always answered all (not always reasonable) questions. After the approval of the I-526 petition, we decided to continue cooperation and signed a contract for legal support of the consular process (we will need to change the place of the interview, add family members, and so on).
