Hired Jillian Hansen in early 2025 for my divorce and paid close to six figures in legal fees over roughly 18 months. The case ultimately settled at mediation in March 2026 with a signed Rule 69 Agreement, and the Consent Decree was drafted, revised, and sent to opposing counsel on March 24, 2026. Wh...ile we were waiting on opposing counsel to return the Decree, Jillian moved to withdraw over a remaining invoice balance that, after applying my security deposit, amounted to roughly $2,000. A few specific things future clients should verify before hiring: Ask up front how a small remaining balance will be handled at the end of a matter, especially if you are close to final decree. Being told your attorney will withdraw at the finish line after nearly six figures in paid fees is not what I expected. Get clear fee estimates at every phase. My total spend far exceeded what I was led to expect for a case that ultimately resolved at mediation without trial. If you have anything complicated on the financial side (bankruptcy considerations, business ownership, spousal maintenance structure), line up an independent second set of eyes. I had to bring in a separate bankruptcy attorney to actually pressure test the Decree language, and the most protective provisions in my final agreement came from his input, not Jillian's. Jillian and her team were responsive enough on day to day communication (around 3 day+ turnaround for most simple communication) and the paralegal work was competent. That is why this is two stars rather than one. But on value delivered for the money paid, and on how the representation ended, I would tell a friend going through a divorce to interview at least two other firms before signing a retainer with her.
