Andrew B Turk

I am primarily a business litigator. However, I have litigated a wide variety of cases including construction defect, mold and toxic tort, bad faith, medical malpractice, long-term care liability, securities fraud, personal injury, insurance defense, trade secret and intellectual property litigation. Currently my practice focuses on litigation against banks and other lenders. I have served as first or second chair in seven jury and one bench trial and have handled numerous evidentiary hearings, including an 11-day Frye hearing on the admission of scientific evidence.

As a judge pro tem, I have handled civil, criminal and juvenile matters for the Maricopa County Superior Court and the Gilbert Municipal Court. I have presided over approximately 15 jury trials and two bench trials as well as numerous civil traffic hearings. I have conducted approximately 60 court-ordered settlement conferences and 5 arbitrations. I also handle arbitrations and mediations as a paid, third-party neutral.

I also serve as the Chair of the firm's VISION Outreach Program in the Firm's Phoenix office. The Polsinelli Shughart VISION Program (Volunteers Investing Service In Our Neighborhoods) is a way of giving back to the community while taking advantage of an opportunity to broaden and deepen personal relationships with colleagues. The VISION Leadership Team coordinates a variety of volunteer opportunities for teams of Polsinelli Shughart employees to serve the needs of a number of local charities. In 2012, the Phoenix office partnered with UMOM to help meet the needs of newly homeless families. In 2013, Polsinelli's Phoenix office will continue to work with UMOM while also expanding its services to other local charities.
