Shawn Jake Alves

Shawn J. Alves’s practice focuses on business and complex litigation matters. Shawn represents clients in partnership disputes, contract disputes, employment disputes, and securities and residential construction fraud actions before trial and appellate courts in Arizona and the Ninth Circuit.

Shawn previously served as a senior prosecutor in the Air Force Judge Advocate Generals Corps (JAG), where he tried several high visibility felony cases and led a team of over twenty attorneys in nearly 100 prosecutions at military installations throughout the country. During his time with the Air Force, Shawn was the lead attorney advisor to fifteen military commands and acted as Special Assistant United States Attorney to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Western Texas as well as a consultant to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

Prior to his military service, Shawn served as a law clerk to Honorable Marcia Morales Howard of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Shawn earned his B.A. from the University of Florida and J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. He is an avid traveler and supporter of University of Florida Gators football.
