I don't know who you are, but you cannot be one of my former clients. I can count on 3 fingers the number of clients who had fees totaling $50,000 or more. Yours is not one of them. I was successful in obtaining an attorney's fees judgment of $58,500 for one of those clients. She was the ex-wife in a post-decree matter. The matter arose when her ex attempted to stop spousal maintenance and modify child support. In addition, we were able to establish she was entitled to child support arrearages totaling more than $50,000. DES subsequently intercepted a tax refund owed to her ex in the amount of $47,822, which paid off most of the past arrearages. I took the case all the way to trial. The other 2 clients were men, so they obviously don't match up with your facts. Bottom line, if I charged you $70,000, you have a large balance due.
