Beyond Thankful For Bonnie's Expertise

Bonnie represented me when my daughter's father took me to court to establish custody, parenting time and child support. At the time I had an active order of protection against him. I genuinely felt my daughter and my life were both in danger around her father. I told Bonnie my story and provided ...my evidence for her. She represented our case exceptionally well in court. We were dealing with a judge who is known to give split custody to parents even when domestic violence is an issue from one of the parties. In my case, there was a domestic dispute, but I had no proof. She was able to extract the most important pieces of evidence and position it to the judge so he was able to understand the severity of the situation. There were many times in court when Bonnie had to act on her toes. Especially having to deal with the father's angry spikes in court, display of aggression towards me or the judge and helping to keep it calm on our end. She made great suggestion for psychiatric evulation of the father and the judge took her position to order it. The psychiatrist unfortunately dropped the ball. Yet, Bonnie was still able to effectively show the judge how the psychiatrist failed on her end and was able to use evidence from the evaluation to position our case. I mention all these details to stress how she consistently had to execute well during intense moments of our case. I asked for Sole Custody and quite frankly did not care for child support. In court, I was originally granted Temporary Sole Custody, supervised visits and child support. The final hearing, since the father had passed all the drug tests, we were granted Joint Custody. However, I had final decision making authority. In addition, another huge win is that I am the custodial parent and child is with father every other weekend for 48 hours. I was also awarded child support and back pay for hospital fees the father never paid me. Even though I wanted Sole Custody, I am still happy with this outcome considering the judge usually just gives Joint to almost every couple. This is very personal to me, because Bonnie helped to protect my daughter from enduring a traumatic childhood and I am very grateful to have hired her.
