Worst lawyer ever

I hired Ruth to help with my custody case. Worst idea ever, first of all I had to keep on her for everything I felt like I worked in her office. I felt like I was doing everything on my own. I would send her important info for my case to be used as proof and she would wait until the last minuet to te...ll me she did not get the email by this point it was too late to use as we had court the next day. She lied on my behalf in court and caused me to loose custody of my son and then blamed me for it. She never gave me a client lawyer agreement either. After the worst was done I couldn't get ahold of her as she avoided my calls. She did nothing for my case but make it a nightmare. I do not recommend this Ruth at all. She did not take my case serious and had an excuse for everything not only to me but the judge in court. She did not do anything the judge asked her to do for my case either. She would keep me on the phone for an hour every time we spoke just to ask me a few questions about my case then proceed to rant about other random things that had nothing to do with my case or law even for that matter like people she used to know or about how she's all jacked up on morphine all day everyday or the size cloths she wears or her first husband ect....

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
