I used this attorney back in 2009. She charged me a $4,000 retainer. My ex and I were able to work a lot of stuff out on our own, she she ended up having to do very little work for me. Well, she made sure she kept her $4,000 by charging for every little thing. She also left some very important it...ems out of the parenting agreement. She claims I told her to leave them out, but I did not. Any good lawyer would not have left them out. As another reviewer stated, she "nickeled and dimed". I feel that overcharged me for the work she did and that her work was inadequate.

I was reading the above reviews and I am confused. In the initial consultation with Barbara we went over her retainer agreement and what she charged per hour for her services. The fact that she allowed payments to be made tells me she has a heart and wanted to help you with your situation. However, y...ou would not go to work if you were not getting paid for the work you produced. What some people forget is that attorneys have expenses for preparing for Trial which include paying for the staff for helping prepare the trial notebooks, the cost of the notes books and the hours of preparation that goes into preparing and knowing the facts of your case and research that helps argue your case. You agreed to the hourly rate, she was nice enough to allow you to make payments, however she is not Bank of America. When it comes to hiring an attorney, many people look for different things, you can hire someone that will get the job done and do a good job, but if you are looking for that attorney that goes the extra mile, the one that will dig their teeth into your case and grab hold of your ex and make them wonder, "what the heck just happened?", then Ms, Fuqua (Barbara) is the attorney you want!! She is a pit bull type of attorney that has a way of showing your ex who is in charge and hope to god she does not find out about all their secrets, but somehow she does. She has planned out all her cases step by step and knows what will work and how to get the results that you desire. Yeah you may get an attorney that cost less but she is so worth every penny you will spend. And believe me as soon as your to be ex's attorney hears that you have hired Barbara, their react will be "crap! they hired the best attorney they could get!!" Sometimes you get what you pay for, when it comes to an attorney, Barbara is the best!! And so worth every penny!!!
